MDO:

Medium Density Overlay (MDO) is widely used in:

  • Useful for construction and residential applications, both interior and exterior
  • Cabinet and built-ins, panelling, shelving and partitions
  • Signs (billboards)
  • Truck and trailer lining
  • Farm buildings and equipment applications such as animal shelters
  • Marine use: boat’s structural applications such as; bulk heads, marina decks, hulls, transoms, cabin construction, and hutch covers.

 

Medium density overlay panel, is a paintable surface made of plywood with a weather-resistant resin overlay bonded to the wood by heat and pressure.  The overlay, which is at least 27% resin content, resists water, weather, wear and degradation. 

A similar product with a more rugged, smoother surface is called high-density overlay (HDO) plywood.
